John Kelsey

The newest member of the Oxford English UK Vietnam team, John is TEFL certified and licensed to teach English in Hanoi. He previously worked at another English center here in Hanoi, but joined Oxford English UK Vietnam because he liked the close-knit team (which includes his good buddy David) and liked the fact that there are no Vietnamese teachers at Oxford; John enjoys taking responsibility for his own classes and seeing his students through every lesson and all skills as he a chance to do at Oxford English UK Vietnam. John is a serious teacher. At present John is primarily teaching TOEFL iBT preparation as well as courses to prepare for studying in US. He also enjoys helping students explore the topics from SAT essays and guiding rousing discussions that sharpen critical thinking skills. When helping with college applications, John knows that he needs to help you to find the best story you have to tell - and he takes great pleasure in his work. John is currently teaching SAT, College Essay Writing, and College Application Coaching via Skype. 

He also works with lower level students, using his caring nature and attention to detail to help them build up to higher levels of proficiency. John's attitude is that, like a superhero, he's here to help! John always makes sure that his students are never afraid to ask questions, and he encourages students to use their curiosity to guide their learning.
